What weight loss treatments do you offer?+
We offer two proven GLP-1 receptor agonist medications — Semaglutide (Wegovy®/Ozempic®) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®/Zepbound®) — combined with DNA-guided nutrition through the DNA Diet Club app and mindset training through DeepDive MD. Our practice also offers compounded Tirzepatide and Semaglutide injections as an affordable alternative when brand-name medications are unavailable or not covered. Every plan is supervised by a board-certified internal medicine physician.
Do you offer compounded Tirzepatide and Semaglutide?+
Yes. In addition to brand-name Wegovy®, Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound®, our practice offers compounded Tirzepatide and Semaglutide injections sourced from licensed compounding pharmacies. Compounded options can be a more affordable path when insurance doesn't cover brand medications or when there's a manufacturer shortage. Your physician will help you choose the safest, most effective option for your goals.
What's the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?+
Semaglutide targets one receptor (GLP-1), while Tirzepatide targets two (GLP-1 and GIP). Tirzepatide's dual-action approach can produce greater average weight loss and better insulin sensitivity. Your physician will recommend the right fit based on your health profile, goals, and tolerance.
How does GLP-1 therapy work?+
GLP-1 medications mimic a hormone your gut naturally produces. They (1) signal your brain that you're full, (2) slow gastric emptying to extend that fullness, and (3) improve insulin sensitivity. The result is reduced appetite, fewer cravings, and steady, sustainable weight loss when paired with lifestyle changes.
Am I a candidate for medical weight loss?+
Most adults with a BMI over 27 (with a related condition like prediabetes, hypertension, or sleep apnea) or a BMI over 30 are candidates. We confirm during your consultation after reviewing your history and running the appropriate labs.
Is this covered by insurance?+
Office visits and labs are typically covered by most plans. GLP-1 medication coverage depends on your plan and indication; we help you check coverage before prescribing and offer transparent cash-pay pricing when needed.
What about side effects?+
Nausea, reflux, and constipation are the most common early side effects and usually manageable with slow dose titration and lifestyle adjustments. We start low, go slow, and monitor closely — the advantage of in-person physician oversight.
What are the DNA Diet Club app and DeepDive MD?+
The DNA Diet Club app pairs genetic testing with personalized nutrition, macros, and exercise guidance. DeepDive MD is our AI health-and-wellness coach that uses guided breathing (RAS training) to help you rewire habits around food, movement, and impulse control. Both apps were built in-house by Dr. Mehta using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) AI, so your diet, supplement, and exercise plans are customized from current clinical evidence and your own genetic and health data — not generic templates. Both are included as companion tools for our weight loss patients.
